Lynn Johnston, born in Collingwood, Ontario, studied animation at the Vancouver School of Art before moving into medical illustration at McMaster University. Her book "David, We're Pregnant" gained wide acclaim during her first pregnancy, selling over 300,000 copies. Post-divorce, she freelanced as a commercial artist and authored parenting sequels like "Hi Mom, Hi Dad" and "Do They Ever Grow Up?" In 1978, she launched her renowned daily comic strip, "For Better or For Worse," signing a twenty-year contract. Her accolades include being the first woman to win the Reuben Award for Cartoonist of the Year (1985) and receiving the Order of Canada.
