Biography
Sudović, Zlatko, Croatian film director (Zagreb, July 20, 1929 – Zagreb, July 24, 2017). He graduated from the School of Cinematography in Zagreb (1949). Playwright in Zora-film and Jadran-film 1957–63, directed short films (about 25 in total) from 1963, among which The Bridge (1965) and City of Birds in the City of People (1973) stand out. Since 1969, he worked for Television Zagreb, for which he directed several teaching and educational films about Croatian writers (J. Kaštelan, M. Krleža, V. Parun, etc.) and the notable series Što je film? (1972–73; 1985–87). He edited the encyclopedic edition Zagrebački krug cartoon film (I–IV, 1978). Other notable films: Settlement on the Fifth Track (1966), Morning Chronicle (1967), People, Years, the Sea (1968), Wild Station Defiance (1969), Long Journey of Dobriša Cesarić (1976), Josip Vaništa (1977), Film Portrait of Miroslav Krleža (1978), Vigilante painter Marino Tartaglia (1979), Cathedral organist Anđelko Klobučar (1988).
