The ascent in Cheshire includes his worst moment so far - a perilous trip across a 1ft girder above a 200ft drop - before he climbs into the famous dish on top of the structure.

The structure was the life's work of Giles Gilbert Scott , but it wasn't completed until 17 years after his death, which was, in itself, 75 years since work began. Before climbing the outside to the top of the 150ft bell tower, McCloud examines the inside and stands beneath the highest gothic arches ever built.
